Stormy Blue Farm is a first-generation homestead located in a small town known as the Heart of Maine: Dexter. Five (5) acres of our 26 acres of land are dedicated to growing specialty cut flowers like sunflowers, zinnias, roses, lilies, gladiolus, and dahlias to name a few. During the summer we open our sunflower field to the public for you-pick flowers and pictures. 

Aside from the flower crops, we are growing a variety of vegetables, fruits, and herbs for our personal consumption. Some of our farm animals include egg-laying chickens, meat chickens, geese, pigs, a small fold of Highland cows, and we’re planning on adding more animals soon but for now, these are keeping us fairly busy.

We intend to practice a sustainable agriculture style by rotating crops, reducing tillage, and applying an integration of crop and animal production to help our farm be more efficient and profitable.

We also treat uncultivated or less intensively cultivated areas as integral to our farm. Letting natural vegetation grow around crop fields, can help control erosion, reduce nutrient runoff, and support pollinators and biodiversity in general. Message us to schedule a visit.
